I was planning on launching into this head first with a long, well crafted blog entry that would go down in internet folklore as one of the must read epiteths of this generation (much like this speech by David Foster Wallace), but I have televisual commitments that are hogging my attention and ability to think good. I got onto the Mad Men bandwagon too late, so late in fact that I have 8 or so episodes of season 2 clogging up my tivo while I'm still working through season one on DVD (borrowed from a friend). So instead of creating something profound, I'm going to pop it on and drift away into a the dreamworld that existed only 40 years ago, back in the days when chain smoking, alcoholism, sexism, adultery and being caucasian weren't things to be ashamed of.
